Intellectual Property Law Forum 2021: Taking IP Law Back to the Future (Day 1 ONLY Registration)

Description:

**Registration has closed. Please email CLE@tnbar.org if you need assistance.**

A great inventor once said, “Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.” Dr. Emmett Brown’s statement has never been truer. The past year’s pandemic has led to increasing reliance on technology for interactions with others. For attorneys, this has meant a transition to not just working from home but also to taking depositions and attending hearings over videoconference. For inventors and artists, this has meant newfound profitability in emerging technologies, from invention by artificial intelligence to auctioning artwork as non-fungible tokens. Over two separate days, April 15 and April 22, this live virtual program will examine the effects of this technological evolution by examining developments in the law of patentable subject matter, local patent rules and venue, ethical obligations in a virtual world, the IP of NFTs, the Trademark Modernization Act, and copyright protection for useful articles.
