Ethical Considerations for Witness Preparation and Jury Selection

Description: The purpose of this session is to identify and discuss ethical considerations as they relate to witness preparation and jury selection. Special emphasis will be placed on the importance of witness preparation, types of improper behavior, and how attorneys can inadvertently influence witnesses. Recommendations will be made on ways to improve presentation style without changing content, as well as ways to determine the difference between ethical and unethical interaction with witnesses. With regard to jury selection the discussion will focus on ethical considerations regarding the client and jurors, and identify ways to determine the difference between ethical and unethical behavior.
