Description:

This CLE, aimed toward general practitioners, will help provide an overview of the employment at-will doctrine and basic exceptions to it under state and federal law. We will explore important laws that limit the at-will doctrine, including discrimination and harassment, retaliation & whistleblowers laws, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, pregnancy related non-discrimination and accommodation law, and laws that prescribe required pay practices, including the Fair Labor Standards Act and Tennessee state regulations.
