This program will demonstrate how lawyers can use AI to become more efficient in their writing, without compromising accuracy or professional judgment.
AI provides us with the ability to rapidly polish our legal writing. Using this technology, we can instantly make our drafts smoother, test our logic, find typos, identify ambiguity, and monitor our tone. However, due to the specialized nature of legal communication, when we use AI ineffectively, it has the reverse outcome—making our writing slower.
During this session, the instructor will comb through the prompting techniques (i.e., the instructions you give to AI) that will ensure you are harnessing AI’s power in a way that speeds up your writing rather than holds it back. A prime example of when AI can slow you down is when you ask it to make a document more concise. For instance, when you instruct AI to shorten a client letter or a court filing, this request often backfires because AI tends to strip away the subtlety that was important to you but undetectable to “the robot.”

Helpful to this non-AI user. Presenter was excellent. Program was to the point.
Great topic, please present more CLEs on using AI in the legal field.
This could easily have been a 2 or 3 hour course, because it went pretty fast, particularly for those of us just delving into the use of AI. However, it was excellent.
The basic tips provided were very helpful.
Appreciated the examples given during the presentation.
I really enjoyed the presentation, and I found especially insightful the argument that we should write the first draft then use AI to edit. I had always thought of it the other way around, but this seems more efficient.
Helpful in preparing time saving prompts for AI.
Great suggestions on how to form the best prompt for AI.
