Investigating & Preparing for the Preliminary Hearing

Description: The preliminary hearing is one of the most important stages of a criminal proceeding. The primary purpose of it is to determine if there is probable cause to believe that a crime was committed and that the defendant committed the crime. However, it is also a valuable opportunity for defense counsel to gather information at the early stages of a case. This presentation will review what defense counsel should know when investigating and preparing for a preliminary hearing in General Sessions Court.
