Description: This program will focus on how to structure and present your appeal, including:

•Presenting the Appeal
•Appellate Oral Argument
•Practice Pointers – Assessing the Oral Argument

This advanced presentation will include strategy and tips for planning the presentation of evidence and making objections in the trial court in order to preserve issues for appeal. Also covered are the types of appeals available and tips on ensuring the appeal is ripe and properly before the appellate court. This presentation will address preparation of the appellate record and briefing, including tips on designating the record and writing a persuasive brief. Attendees will also be provided with information about E-Filing and other new tech-friendly Appellate Court Clerk services.

Receive suggestions for effective oral argument and practical tips for arguing your case to the court as the speakers present oral argument to the panel of experts. The panel and speakers will assess the effectiveness of the oral argument and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the styles and techniques of the oral argument.
