I enjoyed all of the presentations, however, I believe Jennifer's presentation to be the most helpful in terms of practice. I do think Thomas's comments on worklife balance were needed as I believe that more often than not we neglect ourselves before our clients.

I enjoyed the practical areas of the program such as what to include in retainer agreements and what not to include in Motions to withdraw. I did not enjoy the general advice about stay involved in your community, watch hours worked, etc. because I feel those topics are covered constantly through other areas to a newly admitted attorney.

Great to get insights into the Solo-In-A-Box. It's such an interesting resource, and was pleased to see it's forward-thinking. Going solo sounds terrifying and risky, but with SIAB, maybe it's not so bad. As always, the "war stories" are great to hear to put concepts into practice - especially David and Jennifer's short stories. I work for an elected official, and handling billable hours sounds like the worst thing in the world. That said, it was good to hear thorough explanations about them, pricing considerations, and other tangential matters (all four covered this to some extent). David, Tommy, and Jennifer did a REALLY good job of being emphatic about what practice is really like without disregarding the high-minded ideals of professionalism. On the other hand, Mark closing down the program with a return back to that high-level philosophy of practice, and particularly his emphasis on ethical rules combined with the pragmatic considerations of what-to-do's, was really nice. It's that constant tension of calling/profession vs. business/making a living that was well-balanced in this program as a whole. I don't know if they deliberately coordinated that message, but it was well done - and quite refreshing. I've had almost NO experience with engaging/disengaging clients (really, just in clinical work in law school and some pro bono). So that was all pretty new stuff, or at least stuff that doesn't get a lot of attention for those like me that are not in the typical practice setting. So that was very valuable!

Each presenter had very valuable information that impressed me. Mr. Beveridge especially made me feel inspired and uplifted. There was some overlap in the information presented. An improvement for this course could be coordination between the presenters to have remarks that strengthen a colleague's remarks without simply repeating them.
