This session will cover a range of public safety use cases for predictive and generative artificial intelligence, and the ways in which AI can be used for digital evidence-gathering and analysis. Special attention will be given to emergent legal and technical considerations in the use of generative AI in policing, and how those equities can be informed by the established use of predictive AI for applications like automated fingerprint identification and DNA classification systems. The session will also include an overview of criminal use of AI and efforts to mitigate them, along with other oversight and policy issues.
