This session will explore the dynamic and challenging legal issues faced by both music transactional and litigation lawyers in counseling baby-boomer artist clients. The speakers will provide an overview of the current status of copyright protection for pre-1972 sound recordings, and will discuss relevant estate planning considerations and IP law governing the control, preservation, and post-mortem exploitation of an estate’s music assets.
