Discovery Practices in Employment Law

Description:

In the past few years there has been a marked increase in discovery disputes in employment cases. This panel will explore best discovery practices with Magistrate Judges from the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of Tennessee. We will get sage advice from the judges about their preferences and practices and how we can avoid often unnecessary disputes that drain judicial resources, but still balance our obligations to zealously represent our clients.

Very helpful discussion!

It was great to hear the judges’ insights and from their perspective.

It was very helpful to get an inside view as to how judges view and respond to discovery disputes. Thank you!

Most of the material was of the "refresher" variety, but it is nice to hear what stands out to judges.

Stop fighting with opposing counsel.

I really enjoyed hearing from the judges. They provided very helpful insight on how to be a better lawyer.

Learning judicial preferences was very helpful.
