In recognition of the importance and power of artificial intelligence (AI), along with the potential for irresponsible use, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has been prompted to address various issues at the intersection of AI and patent law and practice. This session will provide an overview of the latest guidance issued by the USPTO relating to (1) inventorship for AI-assisted inventions, and (2) use of AI tools by parties to administrative adjudication and patent practitioners.
